ROUNDUP: Hansen rallies Wildcats past host Cougars
Luke Hansen tallied 26 assists, four kills and five digs Tuesday to help Las Vegas High’s boys volleyball team rally for an 18-25, 22-25, 25-17, 25-17, 16-14 win at Coronado.
Jacob Bevell served eight aces to go along with nine digs for the Wildcats, and teammate Jimichael Baker added six blocks and six kills.
Garrett Jones had 18 digs and four kills for Las Vegas.
Chris Andrulis put down 23 kills, and Byrin Romney dished out 41 assists for Coronado, which hurt itself with 24 service errors.
Shadow Ridge 3, Green Valley 1 — At Shadow Ridge, Brandon Fisher racked up 17 kills, and Cody Tesoro added 34 digs to lead the Mustangs to a 28-26, 18-25, 25-22, 25-22 win over the Gators.
Justin Kent added 13 kills for Shadow Ridge.
Wesley Reed paced Green Valley with 15 kills and 10 blocks. Nick Hevrin dished out 38 assists, and Beau Gronert recorded 14 kills and seven blocks for the Gators.
Palo Verde 3, Silverado 1 — At Palo Verde, Sean Wilson had 30 assists, eight digs and four blocks to lead the Panthers to a 25-16, 25-21, 19-25, 25-18 win over the Skyhawks.
Trent Gneiting had 10 kills and eight digs for Palo Verde, and Brandon King tallied 16 kills and three blocks. Pat Morrison had 13 digs for the Panthers.
Kyle Divicino led Silverado with seven kills and 10 digs. Steven Jex had seven kills and five blocks for the Skyhawks, and Shawn Steckel supplied six kills and six blocks.
Arbor View 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Arbor View, Richie Garness dished out 34 assists as the Aggies rolled to a 25-14, 25-18, 25-14 sweep of the Miners.
Nicco Buffalino had 11 kills, and Genaddy Shataev added nine kills for Arbor View.
Alex Benitez led Sunrise Mountain with five kills, and temmate Cody Trapp had three blocks.
Legacy 3, Durango 1 — At Durango, Erik Valerio dished out 30 assists, and Justin Paquin put down 11 kills to help lead the Longhorns to a 23-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-21 win over the Trailblazers.
Jordan Pinkney contributed 10 kills, and Cris Reyes had six digs for Legacy.
Paris Estrada had 11 kills, Dex Alston supplied 16 digs, and Caleb Snook served seven aces for Durango.
Chaparral 3, Mojave 0 — At Chaparral, Nate Kirschbaum spiked 16 kills to lead the Cowboys to a 25-22, 25-13, 25-19 win over the Rattlers.
Brian Poles distributed 24 assists for Chaparral.
Western 3, Foothill 0 — At Western, Nash McIntosh dished out 11 assists and served two aces to help the Warriors sweep the Falcons, 25-14, 25-16, 25-19.
Aaron Buckley added seven kills and two blocks, and Matthew Lewis had five kills for Western, which got three aces from Braeden Smith.
Andre Gonzalez led Foothill with six kills and six digs. Darius Gates added six digs, and Caleb Hutchinson had four blocks for the Falcons.
