ROUNDUP: Ortiz, Franco lead Miners to first win of season

Briceidi Ortiz and Crystal Franco each scored a goal in the first half Friday to lead Sunrise Mountain’s girls soccer team to a 2-0 home victory over Chaparral.
The result was the first win of the season for the Miners, and only the sixth in the school’s two-year history.
Aryn Bordman registered the four-save shutout.
Coronado 1, Green Valley 0 — At Green Valley, Kimberly Buset scored 25 minutes into the second half to lift the Cougars to a win over the Gators.
Kaitlyn Fahrner earned the shutout for Coronado.
Liberty 2, Basic 1 — At Liberty, Sunshine Soriano scored on a breakaway in the final minute to send the Patriots past the Wolves.
Basic’s Nikki Mullins and Liberty’s Paige Terlizzi had each converted a penalty kick earlier in the second half.
Canyon Springs 1, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Roseura Escobedo scored midway through the first half to give the Pioneers a win over the Jaguars.
Canyon Springs’ Haleigh Arnold made five saves to earn the shutout.
Eldorado 0, Las Vegas 0 — At Las Vegas, the Sundevils and Wildcats battled to a scoreless draw.
Eldorado’s Chynna Hartmann and Las Vegas’ Allie Hammer each earned a shutout.
Silverado 3, Del Sol 0 — At Silverado, Kristina Hertz, Courtney Anderson and Erika Felts each scored in the second half to give the Skyhawks the win over the Dragons.
Silverado’s Taylor Lommason posted a five-save shutout.
Tech 4, Foothill 0 — At Tech, Rachael Montoya notched three goals as the Roadrunners blanked the Falcons.
Patty Martinez added a goal, and Maxi Fix had two assists for Tech.
Susan Melian had the shutout.
Rancho 5, Valley 0 — At Rancho, Stephanie Apodaca and Lucinda Luevanos scored two goals apiece as the Rams downed the Vikings.
Hannah Hanselman also scored for Rancho.
Rachael Wiltshire made three saves in the shutout.
