ROUNDUP: Green’s double gives Palo Verde win over Arbor View

Palo Verde’s Lexa Green scored two first-half goals, then added a second-half assist as the Panthers shut out visiting Arbor View 4-0 on Monday to open Northwest League play.

Green scored an opportunistic goal in the 25th minute, soaring into the penalty box for a header after Jordan Fleming saw her left-sided blitz into the area denied.

The senior midfielder added a goal 10 minutes later for the Panthers, who led 2-0 at the half.

Brianna Stutz redirected a shot from the corner by Tatiana Pagan six minutes after halftime, and Lauren Kaskie scored after a pass from Green in the 56th minute to finish the scoring.

Palo Verde’s Stacie Gubler made four saves to earn the shutout.

Cimarron-Memorial 9, Legacy 0 — At Cimarron, Brooke D’Onofrio had three goals and four assists to power the Spartans to a rout of the Longhorns.

Tessa Sanchez had two goals and an assist for Cimarron, and teammates Kaycee Luke and Adriana Moreno each scored two goals.

Hailey Kirkwood added three assists for the Spartans.

Selene Johnson recorded a three-save shutout.

Clark 4, Western 0 — At Clark, Azucena Bernal had a goal and an assist to lead the Chargers past the Warriors.

Rachel Soohoo, Nicole Plecko and Amanda Shaffer each added a goal for Clark. Keri Thacker was in goal for the shutout.

Bonanza 6, Sierra Vista 2 — At Bonanza, Brianna Higgs scored twice to give the Bengals a win over the Mountain Lions.

Kalyn Goffney added a goal and an assist, and Bree Hammel, Rachael Delapaz and Brittany Donaldson each had a goal and an assist for Bonanza.

Danyella Gonzalez and Courtney Shay each scored a goal for Sierra Vista.

Spring Valley 6, Durango 0 — At Spring Valley, Peyton Leblue scored two goals, and Markie Henderson added a goal and two assists to help the Grizzlies cruise past the Trailblazers.

Alyssa Gomez had a goal and an assist for Spring Valley. Leslie Carroll and Nattaly Aleman scored a goal apiece for the Grizzlies, who got two assists from Samantha Boeddeker.

Megan Delaney posted a two-save shutout for the Grizzlies.

Shadow Ridge 9, Mojave 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Mackensie Espiritu had two goals and an assist to help the Mustangs rout the Rattlers.

Brice Poort and Vanessa Pena each added two goals for Shadow Ridge. Gaby Steinberg, Brittany Baham and Katie McClure each scored a goal, and Dallas Gunny notched the shutout.

Centennial 8, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Bethanie Skelton had three goals and an assist to help power the Bulldogs past the Desert Shields.

Paris Gonzales, Sienna Drizin, Rebecca Espinoza, Keliana Karzen and Samantha McLaughlin each added a goal for Centennial.

Jennifer Ramirez scored Cheyenne’s lone goal.

Bishop Gorman 7, Desert Oasis 1 — At Gorman, Mia Moore notched three goals, and Haley Wingender added two goals and two assists to lead the Gaels past the Diamondbacks.

Ashlee Beckwith and Kylie Kircher also scored for Gorman, and teammate Charlotte Brascia assisted on two goals.

Megan Stanton scored on a penalty kick for Desert Oasis, which trailed 3-1 at halftime.
