ROUNDUP: Valencia helps Spartan boys open Northwest play with shutout win

Oso Valencia scored two goals Monday as Cimarron-Memorial’s boys soccer team opened Northwest League play with a 4-0 win over visiting Shadow Ridge.
Gerardo Zacarias and Danny Ortiz added a goal apiece for Cimarron.
Alex Ramirez made seven saves to earn the shutout.
Durango 3, Virgin Valley 2 — At Durango, Ryan Benavente assisted on the tying goal and scored the winner in the final five minutes as the Trailblazers nipped the Bulldogs.
Jonathan Asega scored the tying goal for Durango, which also got a goal from Marcos Alejo.
Tony Ulloa scored both of the Bulldogs’ goals.
Spring Valley 2, Pahrump Valley 1 — At Spring Valley, Joseph Padfield and Seth McGinn both scored for the Grizzlies, who got two assists from Ricky Gonzalez en route to the win over Pahrump.
Hiram Castro scored for the Trojans.
Bonanza 6, Sierra Vista 0 — At Bonanza, Matthew Thomas notched two goals, and Sergio Rodriguez added four assists to lead the Bengals past the Mountain Lions.
Robert Sagel and Eduardo Munguia each had a goal and an assist for Bonanza, which also got goals from Giovanni Rodriguez and Kevin Fuentes.
William Sagel made four saves to claim the shutout.
Western 2, Clark 1 — At Western, Joshua Ballard scored twice as the Warriors edged the Chargers.
Leodanny Cornejo scored for Clark.
Bishop Gorman 7, Desert Oasis 0 — At Bishop Gorman, Ramak Roohani scored two goals as the Gaels struck five times in the first half and went on to blank the Diamondbacks.
Michael Gray added a goal and two assists, and Fuzz Orellana had a goal and an assist for Gorman.
Tyler Eng, Michael Tonetti and Shane Thompson also scored for the Gaels.
Thomas Olsen was in goal for the shutout.
Legacy 3, Centennial 0 — At Legacy, Saul Aguirre had two goals and an assist to help the Longhorns shut out the Bulldogs.
Ivan Sahugan also scored for the Longhorns.
Ramon Carbajal made three saves to pick up the shutout.
Mojave 4, Cheyenne 0 — At Mojave, Benjamin Soto tallied three goals and an assist to lead the Rattlers past the Desert Shields.
Roosevelt Solis also scored for Mojave.
Fredy Hernandez registered the shutout for the Rattlers.
Del Sol 3, Foothill 1 — At Foothill, Roberto Perez scored two goals to lead the Dragons past the Falcons.
Eric Beil added a goal and an assist for Del Sol.
Christian Volesky scored Foothill’s lone goal.
Coronado 2, Basic 1 — At Coronado, Jesus Maciel and Chance Phifer each had a goal as the Cougars edged the Wolves.
Lex Freeman scored for Basic.
Silverado 2, Green Valley 0 — At Silverado, Devin Diego and Julio Hermoza scored in the second half to help the Skyhawks blank the Gators.
Vicente Gomez made two saves to earn the shutout.
Tech 6, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, Jesus Herrera and Oscar Velazquez each scored twice as the Roadrunners routed the Patriots.
Salvador Garcia and Julio Del Real also scored for Tech.
Angel Gomez and Abdel Rodriguez combined on the shutout.
Sunrise Mountain 10, Moapa Valley 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, Johnny Rasco and Fidel Hernandez each scored three goals as the Miners blitzed the Pirates.
Oscar Osuna and Eduardo Enciso each added a goal and two assists, and Diego Segovia and Juan Pena also scored for Sunrise Mountain.
Cody Besalauf scored the Pirates’ lone goal.
