Coronado’s girls tennis team rode a strong singles performance Friday to stun five-time defending state champion and host Bishop Gorman, 11-7.
Paris Reese and Gabriella Smith each went 3-0 in singles to lead the Cougars.
Desert Oasis 15, Moapa Valley 3 — At Desert Oasis, three doubles teams each went 2-0 to lead the Diamondbacks past the Pirates.
Desert Oasis’ Vanessa Stephens and Clarissa Gardley, Francheska Roman and Jessica Alberro, and Isabella Casanova and Christina Casanova each went 2-0 in doubles play.
Moapa Valley’s Natalie Rust finished 3-0 in singles.
Spring Valley 11, Del Sol 7 — At Spring Valley, Sierra Weyer and Annmarie Escalambre both went 2-1 in singles to help the Grizzlies past Del Sol.
Katie Fischer went 3-0 in singles for the Dragons. Ashley Stanley and Gina Rossetti were 3-0 in doubles for Del Sol.
Clark 10, Las Vegas 8 — At Las Vegas, Clark’s Natasha James went 3-0 in doubles, teaming up with Hanna Hagen for two wins and Winnie Ing for one, as the Chargers edged the Wildcats.
Val Shively was 3-0 in singles for the Wildcats.
Green Valley 12, Rancho 6 — At Green Valley, Alyssa Boman, Sydney Bogatz and Gabriella Friday each went 2-0 in singles to help the Gators down the Rams.
The doubles teams of Dana Schwartz and Blake Johnson, and Danielle Novier and Chloe Strobelt each went 2-0 for the Gators.
Durango 10, Liberty 8 — At Liberty, Kaleena Oliver went 3-0 in singles to help the Trailblazers eke out a win over the Patriots.
Bonanza 11, Eldorado 7 — At Bonanza, Ericka Smith and Marnie Nelson each went 3-0 in singles as the Bengals topped the Sundevils.
Alison Matlovic went 2-0 in singles, and Maddie Sutton and Taylor Gordy-Prescott were 2-0 in doubles play for Bonanza.
Wendy Magana and Melanie Pabst were 2-1 in doubles for Eldorado.
Tech 13, Sunrise Mountain 5 — At Sunrise Mountain, Alexis Sanchez and Priscilla Sanchez each went 3-0 in singles to lead the Roadrunners past the Miners.
Basic 18, Virgin Valley 0 — At Basic, the doubles teams of Paige Blake and Fallon Henderson, and Zarah Antivo and Paula Ramirez each claimed a win as the Wolves blanked the Bulldogs.
Sierra Vista 17, Desert Pines 1 — At Desert Pines, Jennifer Cheung, Kayla Courtney and Stephanie Pancho each finished 3-0 in singles as the Mountain Lions routed the Jaguars.
Canyon Springs 12, Silverado 6 — At Silverado, Canyon Springs downed the Skyhawks.
Valley 11, Boulder City 7 — At Boulder City, the Vikings topped the Eagles.
Foothill 16, Chaparral 2 — At Chaparral, a balanced attack led the Falcons to a rout of the Cowboys.
