2A REGIONALS: West Wendover’s Doudy captures Southern League meet

West Wendover’s Will Doudy shot a 4-over-par 76 at Nellis on Wednesday to win the Class 2A Southern League Meet boys individual championship.
Needles took the team title with a team score of 446.
Needles, White Pine (500) and Lake Mead (520) clinched spots at the 2A state tournament, which begins Tuesday in Needles.
Mountain View narrowly missed qualifying for state with a score of 522, followed by Round Mountain (524) and Tonopah (532).
Needles’ Nolan Hartwick was second with an 82, followed by Tonopah’s Denver Otteson (83).
Round Mountain’s Will Sweeney (87), Clancey Carver (90) and Danny Sweeney (92), and Mountain View’s Dennis Bee (92) join Doudy as the individual qualifiers.
