ROUNDUP: Spartans hold on for win at Valley
Ares Manumaleuna had 15 kills, four digs and three aces Tuesday to help Cimarron-Memorial’s boys volleyball team outlast host Valley, 19-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-27, 15-8.
Tanner Maxwell had 31 assists for the Spartans. Brayden Egbert added 14 digs, and Aaron Bowers supplied 11 kills and four digs for Cimarron.
Carl Ajuziem had 27 assists and four aces, and Taylor Herrington had nine kills and four blocks for the Vikings.
Shadow Ridge 3, Las Vegas 1— At Shadow Ridge, Jeremy Makaiwi recorded 45 assists, and Taylor Lancaster had 19 kills and 14 digs as the Mustangs rallied past the Wildcats 20-25, 25-20, 25-12, 25-22.
Joe Pearson added 12 kills and seven blocks for Shadow Ridge.
Luke Hansen tallied 38 assists and 12 digs, and Braeden Wilson had 17 kills and 15 digs for Las Vegas.
Foothill 3, Western 2 — At Western, the visiting Falcons ralled for a 20-25, 21-25, 25-18, 25-14, 15-9 win over Western.
Kentrell Washington had eight kills and nine blocks, and Sir Washington had nine blocks for Western.
Arbor View 3, Desert Pines 1 — At Arbor View, Kirby Mengert had 15 kills and 15 digs, and Jesse Morgan supplied 13 digs and five kills as the Aggies beat the Jaguars 25-13, 31-29, 23-25, 25-12.
Kealyn Butler added 11 digs and two aces for Arbor View.
Michael Tran had 14 assists and Daniel Aguilar supplied 11 digs for Desert Pines.
Palo Verde 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Palo Verde, Drew Topham had 10 kills, and Sean Wilson dished out 18 assists to help the Panthers to a 25-15, 25-18, 25-14 win over the Pioneers.
Adam Tuala had 12 kills and Adrian Snow added 10 for Canyon Springs.
Centennial 3, Rancho 0 — At Rancho, Leo Durkin tallied 31 assists, to help the Bulldogs sweep the Rams, 25-22, 25-14, 25-17.
Matt Kurtz had 14 kills, and Mike Robinson supplied eight kills and seven digs for Centennial. Cameron Olsen added 11 digs, and McKay Holley spiked eight kills for the Bulldogs.
Antonio Boucher had eight kills and nine blocks, and teammate Kevin Plasencia added 13 digs and five kills for Rancho.
Cheyenne 3, Chaparral 0 — At Chaparral, Ervin Leu had nine kills, two blocks and four digs, and Jose Soto added seven kills and five blocks as the Desert Shields beat the Cowboys 28-26, 25-10, 26-24.
Humberto Jaurigua had seven kills, two blocks and four digs, and Tylor Muse supplied seven kills, three aces and three digs for Chaparral.
Mojave 3, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, James Noles had 16 assists and four aces, and Demarge Boyd tallied 12 kills to help the visiting Rattlers beat the Miners 25-20, 25-19, 19-25, 26-24.
Jerome Hill added nine digs for Mojave.
Damon Burton dished out 27 assists to lead the Miners. Alex Benitez had 11 kills and three blocks, and Philip Fragoza added eight kills and two blocks for Sunrise Mountain.
Legacy 3, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Erik Valerio had 18 assists, and Billy Purcell had 15 kills to lead the Longhorns to a 25-19, 25-18, 25-20 win over the Sundevils.
Legacy’s Jesse Urbina added seven kills.
