ROUNDUP: Vikings’ Herrington, Hodge help hang up Pioneers, Miners

Taylor Herrington (152 pounds) and Roland Hodge (171) had two pins each Tuesday to lead Valley’s wrestling team to a pair of home wins, 39-36 over Canyon Springs and 54-24 over Sunrise Mountain.
 
Herrington pinned his opponent in 1 minute, 43 seconds in the first match and 1:44 in the second, while Hodge did so in 2:43 and 3:55.
 
Heavyweight Elias Sanchez also won both matches for the Vikings with a 3-2 decision against Canyon Springs and a 25-second pin against Sunrise Mountain.

Canyon Springs tops Sunrise Mountain
At Valley, the Pioneers picked up three pins in a 36-24 victory over the Miners.

Bonanza downs Pahrump, routs Western
At Pahrump, Mario Mondragon (103), Billy Rosas (140), Dustin Tippetts (145), Shaun Kinney (12) and Franz Ferguson (160/171) each won two matches by pin to lead the Bengals to a 42-33 win over Pahrump Valley and a 57-3 victory over Western.

Cheyenne falls to Arbor View, downs Faith Lutheran
At Cheyenne, the Aggies rode five pins to a 64-12 win over the Desert Shields.
