3A ALL-STATE: Two Bulldogs earn first-team honors

Northern Nevada teams dominated the Class 3A boys soccer all-state honors, but Virgin Valley had two players named to the first team.
Bulldogs midfielder Joel Medina and utility player Pedro Carminatti took first-team recognition, along with The Meadows forward Toby Warburton and Boulder City defender Jon Lyon.
MVP went to Sparks’ Abi Quintino. Incline’s Alex Reyes was named Offensive Player of the Year, Johnny Luna the Defensive Player of the Year and Tom Canino the Coach of the Year.
GIRLS SOCCER — White Pine midfielders Teal Collins and Kelsey Fullmer received first-team honors, along with Boulder City defender Jen King.
MVP went to Truckee’s Stephanie O’Neil, Offensive Player of the Year to Spring Creek’s Reisa Saddoris, Defensive Player of the Year to Truckee’s Kennedy Power and Coach of the Year to Truckee’s Amy Valdivia.
