ROUNDUP: Grizzlies eke out tri-meet win

Spring Valley’s boys cross country team placed six runners in the top 10 on Tuesday, edging Clark to win a three-team meet at Desert Oasis.

The Grizzlies finished with 28 points. Clark was second with 29, and Desert Oasis third with 85.

Clark’s Jacob Naylor won the 3.1-mile race in 16 minutes, 59 seconds. Spring Valley’s Mark Gerber (17:57) was second and Clark’s Alex Gonzalez (18:04) third.

Coronado wins four-team meet
At Hemenway Park, Liberty took the top two spots, but Coronado still came away with the victory, finishing with 34 points.

Liberty (54) was second, followed by Tech (63) and Boulder City (85).

Liberty’s Al Galan won the 2.8-mile race in 16:01.2, followed by teammate Cyle Schultz (16:04.9) and Boulder City’s Taylor Clifford (16:15.6).

Kim, Green Valley win meet
At Basic, Green Valley’s Julius Kim won the 2.65-mile race in 14:08, and the Gators finished first with 17 points.

Basic (42) was second and Henderson International (83) third.

Green Valley’s Matt Campa-Moreno (14:11) was second and Jason Ferraro (14:17) third.

Falcons top Del Sol, Silverado
At Foothill, the Falcons placed five runners in the top 10 to finish first with 26 points.

Del Sol was second with 46, and Silverado finished third with 60.

Del Sol’s Colin Smith won the 2.5-mile race in 13:32.

Silverado’s Dante Carter (13:53) was second and Foothill’s Brian Arvizu (14:08) third.

Marschik leads Aggies to win
At Faith Lutheran, Arbor View’s Greg Marschik placed first on the 2.8-mile course in 15:09 to lead the Aggies to the win with 27 points.

Shadow Ridge (38) was second and Faith Lutheran (73) third.

Shadow Ridge’s Sam Mahar (15:25) finished second and Faith Lutheran’s Anthony Ponticello (15:34) third.

Panthers top Cimarron-Memorial
At Palo Verde, Palo Verde took nine of the top 10 spots on the way to an 18-45 win over Cimarron-Memorial.

Sebastian Karbowniczek won the 2.85-mile race in 15:34. Palo Verde’s Thomas Johnson (15:47) was second and Cimarron’s Sam Mayo (16:07) third.
