FIELDER’S CHOICE: Long Thursday nights make for short sleep

I don’t know about you, but I didn’t want to get out of bed Friday morning.
Well, that’s true any morning, but I really didn’t want to get up Friday after being at Silverado until past 10:45 Thursday night to watch the Skyhawks roll past Chaparral.
If that’s how long TV games are going to take, we should get Fridays off from school.
This week’s Thursday night special:
Centennial (0-1) at Arbor View (1-0)
It’s only Week 2, some teams haven’t even played, and we’re already starting league play on the left side of town.
Arbor View is coming off a stomping of Eldorado behind DeMarlo Virgil (105 yards, four touchdowns) and Taylor Wooten (113 yards, two TDs).
The Aggies’ defense was good, too, allowing only 117 yards on 40 plays.
Centennial underachieved last season and didn’t get off to a good start in a 10-7 loss to Green Valley. Look for a little more Cody Clark at quarterback this week.
Probably not enough, though. Arbor View should be a playoff team, and this is a good place to start to show it. Arbor View by 8.
