ROUNDUP: Melton leads Las Vegas girls team to tri-meet victory

Breanna Melton won three events to lead the Las Vegas girls track and field team to a narrow tri-meet win at Desert Pines on Tuesday.

Melton took the 100-meter dash (13.1 seconds), 100 hurdles (17.0) and 300 hurdles (47.3).

She helped Las Vegas score 52 points, edging Desert Pines (51) and Eldorado (43).

Eldorado’s Claudia Gonzalez won the 1,600 (5:54.2) and 3,200 (13:08).

Gators take eight events, win tri-meet
At Foothill, Green Valley won eight events on the way to 79½ points and a tri-meet victory over Foothill (54½) and Del Sol (49).

Del Sol’s Rasheika Ivey won the shot put (34 feet, 9¾ inches) and discus (107-5).

Beville jumps Trailblazers to victory
At Durango, Tiarra Beville won three events to lift the host Trailblazers to a tri-meet win.

Beville won the high jump (4-10), long jump (16-6½) and triple jump (32-0).

Durango scored 79 points, topping Western (47) and Calvary Chapel (46).

Western’s Unique Conner won the 100 (12.42) and 200 (25.3), and Ansherae Devine took the 800 (2:37) and 1,600 (5:47).

Four Crusaders win two events
At Boulder City, four Faith Lutheran athletes won two events each to lift the Crusaders to 121 points and a rout of Boulder City (67), Virgin Valley (40) and Moapa Valley (39).

Faith Lutheran’s Keely Bakken won the 100 hurdles (18.4) and 1,600 (5:46.1); Joi Goynes took the 100 (12.9) and 200 (27.4); Krystal

Onyema won the long jump (15-4) and triple jump (32-6); and Elizabeth Lynch took the shot put (34-4¾) and discus (100-11).

Rogers leads Wildcats to win
At Desert Pines, Las Vegas’ Cameron Rogers won the 100 (11.0) and 200 (22.3) to lead the Wildcats to a tri-meet win.

Las Vegas scored 87 points, ahead of Eldorado (58) and Desert Pines (15).

Eldorado’s Charles White won the high jump (6 feet), long jump (22-3) and triple jump (45-3).

Kim leads Gators to win

At Foothill, Green Valley’s Julius Kim won the 1,600 (4:46.6) and 3,200 (10:31.5) to lead the Gators to a tri-meet victory.

Green Valley scored 83 points, topping Del Sol (55) and Foothill (48).

Del Sol’s Evan Weinstock won the 110 hurdles (15.6) and 300 hurdles (42.2).

Foothill’s Evan Roquemore took the long jump (19-3) and triple jump (42-9).

Durango wins five events, tri-meet
At Durango, the host Trailblazers won five events on their way to 73 points and a tri-meet victory over Western (58) and Calvary Chapel (50).

Calvary Chapel’s Justin Cox won the 110 hurdles (no time) and 300 hurdles (45.5), and Dario Rahming took the high jump (6-2) and long jump (19-9¼).

Eagles win six events, top league foes
At Boulder City, the host Eagles won six events on their way to 89 points to beat Moapa Valley (67), Virgin Valley (65) and Faith Lutheran (52).

Faith Lutheran’s John Cartier won the 100 (11.4), 200 (23.2) and 400 (51.6).
