RECRUITING: Grimble to announce college choice Friday

Bishop Gorman tight end Xavier Grimble said Wednesday he will announce his commitment to either Oklahoma, Southern California or Florida on Friday.

Grimble, a junior who is ranked the nation’s No. 1 tight end in the class of 2010 by both Rivals.com and Scout.com, attended USC’s Nike Camp on Saturday. He said he has “19 or 20” scholarship offers.

The 6-foot-6-inch, 245-pound Grimble caught 13 passes for 308 yards and three touchdowns as a junior, helping the Gaels finish 12-2 overall and 7-0 in the Southwest League.
