ROUNDUP: Las Vegas hands Coronado first loss in boys volleyball

Aaron Hansen had 18 kills, seven digs and two blocks on Friday as Las Vegas’ defending state champion boys volleyball team handed visiting Coronado its first loss, 25-23, 10-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-12.

Braeden Wilson added 13 kills and 21 digs and Chris Gbelay 13 kills and six blocks for the Wildcats. Setter Danny Farias added 51 assists and 10 digs for Las Vegas.

Dayne Ernestberg had nine kills and Josh Dunkley 28 assists for the Cougars.

Shadow Ridge 3, Arbor View 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Ryan Nolan had 13 kills and Jeremy Makaiwi 33 assists to lead the Mustangs to a 25-14, 25-15, 25-7 win over the Aggies.

Jake Shea added eight kills for Shadow Ridge.

Ray Lewis had 10 kills and Taylor Jones 19 assists for Arbor View.

Palo Verde 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Palo Verde, Matt Lish had 32 assists and Ryan Capko 10 kills and seven aces to lead the Panthers over the Desert Shields, 25-7, 25-15, 25-21.

Shaun Carroll had seven kills and Nick Hipwell six kills for Palo Verde.

Neil Larson had 10 assists for Cheyenne. Brandon Jackson had five kills and Ervin Leu three kills for the Desert Shields.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Taylor Sorenson had 20 assists and four aces to help the Spartans to a 25-13, 25-10, 25-8 win over the Rattlers.

Triton Manumaleuna added five kills, five aces and five digs and Ares Manumaleuna nine digs and four aces for Cimarron.

Andre Walker and Marques Strickland each had two kills for Mojave.

Centennial 3, Legacy 0 — At Centennial, Matt Kurtz had eight kills, Ryan Ramin four kills and Kyle Moody six aces to lead the

Bulldogs over the Longhorns, 25-8, 25-11, 25-16.

Ben Noel had eight assists and Ethan Ewing four kills for Legacy.

Silverado 3, Del Sol 0 — At Silverado, Christian Espina had 13 kills and four blocks to help the Skyhawks beat the Dragons, 25-16, 25-13, 25-13.

Eric Valdez had five kills, four digs and two aces for Silverado.

Foothill 3, Tech 0 — At Foothill, Britain Rosenberg had 30 assists to help the Falcons beat the Roadrunners, 25-15, 25-23, 25-12.

Walter Coe had 10 kills and two blocks for Foothill, and teammate Cody Clay had nine kills and four digs.

Johnnie Wyrick had nine kills and two blocks to lead Tech, and teammate Eddie Lopez finished with 16 assists and three digs.

Basic 3, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, Jenson Lavalee had 20 kills, five digs and three aces, and Mike Lunen had 32 assists to lead the Wolves over the Patriots, 25-23, 25-14, 25-21.

Jordan Pils had nine kills and two blocks and Austin Hafen four kills for Basic.

Brendon Reano had eight blocks and three kills and Sage Nua four blocks and three kills for Liberty.
