Moapa Valley earns title at Panther Invitational

The Moapa Valley wrestling team earned two pins in title matches on its way to winning the Panther Invitational title on Friday hosted by Pahranagat Valley at Alamo.

The Pirates racked up 171 points. Laughlin was second with 163 points, followed by White Pine (134), The Meadows (131), Eureka (114), Faith Lutheran (101.5) and Spring Mountain (100).

The fastest fall winner at the 31-team event came from Laughlin 215-pounder Allen Layno. Layno won had four pins in a total of 5 minutes, 31 seconds.
