RECRUITING: Cheyenne’s Tofaeono chooses Utah
January 21, 2009 - 4:00 pm
Many college football coaches and recruiting services viewed Cheyenne senior Jeremiah Tofaeono as a top offensive line prospect.
Utah saw him as a defensive tackle, and for that, Tofaeono orally committed to the Utes late Tuesday night.
“It’s really exciting,” he said of his decision. “It’s a relief. Now I can just stay focused and be ready.”
The 6-foot-4-inch, 290-pound Tofaeono chose Utah over Washington, UNR, UCLA, Utah State and Hawaii. He visited Washington and UNR.
“I really enjoyed the coaches for Utah,” he said.
Tofaeono was a Class 4A all-state selection this season on both sides of the ball, helping the Desert Shields finish 10-2 and reach the Sunset Region semifinals.
