ROUNDUP: Banks’ 30-footer at buzzer lifts Aggies to victory

Darington Banks’ 30-foot running jumper at the buzzer Tuesday lifted Arbor View’s boys basketball team to a 52-51 home win over Centennial.

The Aggies trailed 44-35 entering the fourth quarter but rallied to within two before Banks’ only 3-pointer of the game.

Banks finished with 21 points. Maiscei Grier added 10 points, and James Graham had 14 rebounds.

Matt Holley led Centennial with 14 points.

Palo Verde 42, Legacy 37 — At Palo Verde, Davion Pearson and D.J. Stennis each scored five points during an 18-4 third-quarter run that lifted the Panthers past the Longhorns.

Pearson finished with 12 points, and Moses Morgan had 11 for Palo Verde.

Sam Johnson paced Legacy with 13 points.

Cheyenne 67, Mojave 53 — At Cheyenne, Jaylen Henry had 19 points, 16 rebounds and six blocks to lead the Desert Shields over the Rattlers.

Demetric Williams scored 15 and Chris McCall had 10 points and nine rebounds for Cheyenne.

Prentice Marshall scored 17 points for Mojave.

Cimarron-Memorial 70, Shadow Ridge 58 — At Cimarron, Kevin Olekaibe tallied 25 points, 12 rebounds and four assists and Dale Puckett added 17 points, 18 rebounds and six assists to help the Spartans defeat the Mustangs.

Cimarron led 24-21 at the half and outscored Shadow Ridge 20-11 in the third quarter to take control.

Zach Hafen scored 19 points and Angelo Coleman 17 to lead the Mustangs.

Coronado 60, Basic 56 — At Coronado, Adam Schmitt’s 3-pointer with 40 seconds to play completed a furious comeback by the Cougars, who rallied from a 12-point third-quarter deficit to defeat the Wolves.

Coronado trailed 48-36 entering the fourth quarter but got seven points from Charlie Wakefield in the period and forced several Basic turnovers. Schmitt’s 3 gave the Cougars the lead for good.

Wakefield finished with 17 points to lead Coronado. Brett Hoisington added 12, and Brandon Glanz had 11 points and nine rebounds.

Vince Carducci led Basic with 21 points. James Holmes scored 15 and John Polin 10.

Foothill 75, Del Sol 59 — At Foothill, Evan Roquemore scored 18 points, going 8-11 from the field, to help the Falcons down the Dragons.

Gage Huff added 14 points for Foothill, which used a 23-11 third-quarter advantage to break open a close game. The Falcons had 13 players score at least two points.

Chris Sanders had 14 points and Anthony Martinez 13 for Del Sol.

Silverado 82, Green Valley 71 — At Silverado, Wade Collie had 36 points and 10 rebounds and Ali Sabra supplied 17 points and 10 assists to help the Skyhawks beat the Gators.

Julian Franklin had 31 points to lead Green Valley, David Franklin added 12 and Demetrius Pittman scored 10.

Liberty 59, Tech 45 — At Liberty, Milos Knezevic scored 17 points to lead the Patriots over the Roadrunners.

Cameron Peters scored 15 points for Liberty, and his brother Kenneth Peters added 11.

Brandon Tiffany had 10 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter for Tech.

Calvary Chapel 80, Mountain View 50 — At Mountain View, Joey Peterson hit three straight 3-pointers to start a 49-18 run as the Lions rallied from an early 15-12 deficit to defeat the Saints.

Tyler Moore led Calvary Chapel with 19 points. Brandon Corbitt added 15, Cody Taylor 11 and Peterson and Dario Rahming 10 each.

Justyn Anderson paced Mountain View with 18 points, and teammate Raymond Velarde scored 13.
