ROUNDUP: Palo Verde boys track runs past Cheyenne

Courtney Robinson, Tyrone Blake and Chaz Thomas each won two events on Tuesday as Palo Verde’s boys track team sprinted past visiting Cheyenne, 127-44.

Robinson won the 100-meter dash in 10.5 seconds, and took the 200 in 21.6.

Blake was first in the 110 hurdles (15.3) and triple jump (41 feet, 8 inches). Thomas swept the throws, winning the shot put (43-5) and discus (153-2).

Basic takes three-team meet
At Foothill, Jared Darnell swept the hurdle events to lead Basic to victory over Foothill and Boulder City.

Darnell won the 110 hurdles in 16.9, and took the 300 hurdles in 43.2 as the Wolves finished with 94 points.

Foothill (62) was second and Boulder City (30) third.

GIRLS

Palo Verde wins tri-meet
At Palo Verde, Nicole Ameli won the long jump (14-10) and triple jump (32-7) to lead the Panthers to victory in a three-team meet.

Palo Verde finished with 105 points. Cheyenne (53) was second and The Meadows (13) third.

Cheyenne’s Jennifer Gray won the 200 (26.1) and 400 (1:01.9), and teammate Janae Brown won the shot put (38-4) and discus (107-2).

Richardson leads Basic to win
At Foothill, Alisha Richardson won the long jump and triple jump to lead Basic to the victory over Foothill and Boulder City.

Basic had 70 points, followed by Foothill (59.5) and Boulder City (47.5)

Richardson jumped 14-4 in the long jump, and won the triple jump with a mark of 31-1.

Foothill’s Denicia Rush won the 100 (12.6) and 200 (27.0).
