ROUNDUP: Foothill rallies past Coronado for baseball win

Garett Dobrolecki hit a three-run double in the bottom of the seventh to give Foothill’s baseball team an 8-7 home win over Coronado on Friday.

Dobrolecki’s double capped a rally that saw the Falcons come back from a 7-3 deficit in the final two innings.

Kyle Moyes went 2-for-3 and earned the win in relief.

Dobrolecki finished 3-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs, and Jake Ferdinand went 3-for-3 with one RBI for Foothill.

Cody Giordano tripled, doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice for the Cougars, and teammate Taylor Giordano went 2-for-4 with one run.

Del Sol 1, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, Dan Doph doubled home David Day in the top of the fourth for the game’s only run.

Scottez Dobbins pitched a two-hitter, striking out five, to get the win.

Chris Hampton and Jerrett Tufono each went 2-for-3 for Dragons.

Centennial 6, Shadow Ridge 5 — At Centennial, Blane Bevilacqua went 3-for-3 and drove in the game-winning run with a single in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Bulldogs over the Mustangs.

Shadow Ridge rallied in the top of the seventh, tying the score 5-5 on an RBI single by Sean Hobbs.

But Sam Friend led off the bottom of the inning with a triple and eventually came across on Bevilacqua’s hit.

Allan Butler hit a home run for Shadow Ridge.

Durango 5, Spring Valley 3 — At Spring Valley, Josh Hull’s two-out double to left field scored Mike Sukeyasu with the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh as the Trailblazers downed the Grizzlies.

Durango scored twice in the top of the seventh. Danny Reynolds tossed a two-hitter to get the win.

Green Valley 7, Basic 2 — At Basic, the Gators scored five runs in the third inning to pull away from the Wolves.

Green Valley starter Nolan Kohorst threw four solid innings to earn the win. He gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks with two strikeouts.

Brett Harrison (two doubles) and Kyle Larimer each went 2-for-4 for Green Valley.

Brandon Blake was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Basic.

Desert Oasis 12, Clark 1 — At Desert Oasis, Zane Killebrew pitched a four-hitter with five strikeouts to lead the Diamondbacks over the Chargers in five innings.

Matt Garrett tripled twice and finished 3-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs.

Legacy 10, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Zack Monticelli, Adam Thompson and Tyler Thurston combined on a four-hit shutout to lead the Longhorns over the Rattlers in five innings.

Joey Lauria went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run for Legacy. Donald Glover was 2-for-3 for the Longhorns, and Austin Christiansen hit a three-run homer.

Cimarron-Memorial 14, Cheyenne 0 — At Cimarron, Taylor Doyle was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle to help the Spartans down the Desert Shields in five innings.

Doyle was 3-for-4 with five RBIs. Nate Hale and Kaz Smith each had two hits for Cimarron, and Kris Kaplan homered.

The Spartans took control early with eight runs in the first inning.

Brandon Duhon doubled for Cheyenne, which was held to three hits.

Silverado 12, Tech 1 — At Tech, Bobby Johnson went 2-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run to lead the Skyhawks past the Roadrunners.

Drew Robinson was 2-for-4 with a triple, a double, two RBIs and two runs for the Skyhawks.

Bishop Gorman 14, Western 0 —
At Cashman Field, Joey Gallo, Joey Rickard and R.J. Santgate each drove in three runs to help the Gaels beat the Warriors in five innings.

Tyler Wagner hit a two-run home run for Gorman.

Sierra Vista 15, Pahrump 0 — At Pahrump, Brooks Klein was 4-for-4 with a triple, a double and four RBIs as the Mountain Lions routed the Trojans.

Jake Hager was 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs for Sierra Vista.

Lone Peak (Utah) 11, Rancho 1 —
At St. George, Utah, Jacob Hanneman was 3-for-3 with a home run and a triple in Lone Peak’s win over the Rams.

It was Rancho’s first loss of the season.

Rancho 8, Snow Canyon (Utah) 5 — At St. George, Utah, James Cammack hit a three-run homer in the top of the fifth to give the Rams the lead for good.

The game was stopped after seven innings due to darkness.

Eric Holdren struck out 11 to pick up the win. Zak Qualls earned a save after striking out a batter with the bases loaded to end the sixth.

Qualls finished 3-for-3 with four runs.

Lone Peak (Utah) 7, Las Vegas 6 — At St. George, Utah, Lone Peak scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh to down the Wildcats.

Las Vegas’ Bryce Harper had two hits and two RBIs, and Wes Grass drove in two runs for the Wildcats.

Las Vegas 10, Canyon View (Utah) 0 — At St. George, Utah, Harper hit a three run homer, and Quinnton Mack had two hits as the Wildcats earned a five-inning win.

Miguel Ortiz threw a two-hitter with eight strikeouts to get the win.

Heritage (Colo.) 17, Bonanza 4 — At Bonanza, Shane Opitz was 3-for-5 with a home run, a triple, five RBIs and two runs as the Eagles routed the Bengals in five innings.

Heriberto Orozco was 3-for-3 with a double and a run for Bonanza. Orozco has gotten a hit in eight straight at-bats.

Kris Bryant added a home run for the Bengals.

Faith Lutheran 8-3, Virgin Valley 0-6 —
At Faith Lutheran, Terry Unruh tossed a two-hit shutout in the opener as the Crusaders split with the Bulldogs.

Unruh struck out 13 and walked two. Dylan Hanson was 2-for-2 with two doubles and three runs for Faith Lutheran.

In the nightcap, Zach Horlacher tossed a three-hitter with four strikeouts to lead Virgin Valley.

Moapa Valley 6-5, Boulder City 3-18 — At Overton, Dallin Seely tossed a two-hitter and struck out 11 in the opener to help the Pirates earn a split with the Eagles.

Seely, who allowed only two walks, also slugged a solo home run in Moapa Valley’s five-run sixth inning. Matt Newton added a two-run double in the sixth.

In the nightcap, Ross Lamarca singled and doubled for two of Boulder City’s eight hits.

After trailing 8-0, the Pirates rallied to score five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, but the Eagles scored 10 runs in the fifth.

Newton homered in the second game for Moapa Valley.

Henderson International 3-6, Round Mountain 1-15 — At Henderson International, the Wolverines and Knights split a doubleheader.

Henderson International’s Jon Dapper pitched a complete game, allowing one unearned run and striking out 10 in the first game.

Nick Powell scored by stealing home in the fourth inning to give Henderson International the go-ahead run.

In the second game, Round Mountain’s James Browning was 2-for-3 with a three-run homer as the Knights picked up the win.

Calvary Chapel 13-20, Mountain View 3-10 — At Paul Meyer Park, the Lions swept a doubleheader from the Saints.

Calvary Chapel’s Steven Shigley was 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs in the first game, which saw the Lions take a 9-0 lead after two innings.

Cody Messmore earned a complete-game win and was 1-for-3 with a double.

Tanner Peterson went 3-for-3 with two doubles for Mountain View.

In the second game, Calvary Chapel used an eight-run fifth inning highlighted by Messmore’s two-run single and Shigley’s RBI triple to snap an 8-8 tie.

Peterson was 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs for Mountain View, which committed three errors in the fifth. Joel Isola went 3-for-3 for the Saints.

Needles 11-1, The Meadows 1-2 — At Needles, Calif., Garrett Gosse tossed a two-hitter with five strikeouts in the nightcap as The Meadows salvaged a split with Needles.

Bobby Pisanelli had an RBI single in two-run fifth inning for The Meadows.

Beatty 27-18, Pahranagat Valley 1-11 — At Alamo, Isaias Flores went 7-for-9 with six runs and eight RBIs in two games as Beatty swept a doubleheader from Pahranagat Valley.
 
Flores was 4-for-4 with six runs and five RBIs in the opener. Joe Serrano was 4-for-6 with four RBIs as nine different Hornets drove in at least one run.
 
In the nightcap, Beatty rallied from a 10-8 deficit with four runs in the sixth and six in the seventh. Flores was 3-for-5 with three RBIs. Serrano went 2-for-5 with two RBIs, and Jacob Sumpter went 2-for-5 with a triple, a double and an RBI.
