ROUNDUP: No. 10 Western tops No. 2 Clark in boys soccer

Felipe Medina scored 15 minutes into the second half Wednesday as Western’s No. 10-ranked boys soccer team handed No. 2 Clark its first loss of the year, 1-0 at Clark.

Eddie Hernandez centered a pass to Medina for the only goal of the match for the Warriors (7-1-2).

Goalkeeper Juan Martinez stopped 15 shots by the Chargers (8-1-1) to earn the shutout.

Bishop Gorman 15, Desert Oasis 3 — At Bishop Gorman, Sean Zaher had three goals and three assists, and 11 Gaels players scored in a rout of Desert Oasis.

Shane Thompson also had three goals for Gorman. Cody Barnett, John Vaccaro, Nic Eary, Ramak Roohani, Gabe Skerlich, Chico Meced, Jake O’Rourke, Austin Caine and Michael Tinneti also scored.

Andrew Pardo scored all three goals for Desert Oasis.

Spring Valley 2, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Chris Kimmich’s goal broke a scoreless tie midway through the second half to help the Grizzlies down the Trojans.

Kyle Martin added a penalty-kick goal with 10 minutes to play.

John Strand made two saves to earn the shutout.

Sierra Vista 2, Bonanza 1 — At Bonanza, Demetrius Sturdivant and Francisco Kollmann each scored a goal to lead the Mountain Lions past the Bengals.

Alex Iorlano scored for Bonanza on a penalty kick in the second half.

Rancho 3, Canyon Springs 3 — At Canyon Springs, each team scored a pair of second-half goals in the tie.

Marcus Hanselman scored twice for Rancho. Eric Marquez added a goal for the Rams, and teammate Eric Escobedo had two assists.

Canyon Springs’ Jon Padilla scored twice, and Hugo Hernandez had a goal for the Pioneers. Eduardo Donate added two assists.

Eldorado 6, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Rene Ardon scored three goals to lead the Sundevils past the Jaguars.

Josh Cormier scored two goals and had two assists for Eldorado. Aldo Flores had a goal and three assists for Eldorado.

Alberto Alvarez recorded the shutout for the Sundevils.

Valley 4, Chaparral 4 — At Chaparral, Ivan Chamorro had a hat trick, including the tying goal with five minutes remaining, as the Cowboys and the Vikings played to a tie.

Joey Lopez also scored for Valley, which led 2-0 at the half.

Christian Ayala, Hugo Barciaga, Gibran Handerman and Francisco Sanchez scored for Chaparral.
