Lopez guides Las Vegas to victory over Canyon Springs

Las Vegas senior quarterback Emir Lopez passed for 220 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another to lead the Wildcats (8-1, 5-0 Northeast) to a 36-25 home win over Canyon Springs (1-7, 1-4) on Friday night.
Las Vegas clinched a tie for the Northeast League title.
In a sloppy game that had seven lost fumbles and eight personal fouls, Canyon Springs stayed competitive until the fourth quarter. Las Vegas took control with a 37-yard field goal by Trevor Lowe and a 1-yard touchdown run by Lopez.
Las Vegas running back Reggie Bullock carried 11 times for 134 yards, including a 36-yard touchdown for the only points of the first quarter.
Canyon Springs’ Devin Rimmey rushed for 208 yards on 17 carries, including an 85-yard touchdown as time expired in the third. Deshaun Stewart hauled in 11 passes for 143 yards, including a 60-yard touchdown.
