ROUNDUP: Host Pahrump Valley routs Faith Lutheran to win girls basketball tournament

Pahrump Valley’s girls basketball team jumped to a 21-1 lead after one quarter and rolled to a 55-24 win over Faith Lutheran in the championship game of the Pahrump Valley Cage Classic on Saturday.

Kristi Daffer, the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, led all scorers with 21 points for the Trojans.

Alyson Kunzi scored 12 points for Pahrump.

Kelsey McCourt led Faith Lutheran with 10 points.

Faith Lutheran 35, Beatty 23 — At Pahrump, McCourt scored 15 points to lead the Crusaders into the title game.

Pahrump Valley 57, Bishop (Calif.) 10 — At Pahrump, Kunzi had 16 points and Casey Scheller 10 as the Trojans rolled.

Pahrump outscored Bishop 22-0 in the second quarter.

Centennial 67, Reno 53 — At Reno, Deanna Daniels had 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs over the Huskies in the High Sierra Winter Classic.

Johnna Brown added 15 points for Centennial, which outscored Reno 21-12 in the fourth quarter.

Alexis Byrd scored 14 points and Shannon Brown 10 for the Bulldogs.

Stephanie Rovetti led Reno with 15 points.

West Wendover 45, Pahranagat Valley 44 — At Lund, Danika Sharp scored 29 points as the Wolverines held off the Panthers in the Lund/White Pine Warm-Up.

Dakota Day scored 16 for Pahranagat Valley.

Lund 64, West Wendover 58 — At Lund, Keisha Stewart had 31 points as the Mustangs defeated the Wolverines in overtime.

Sharp scored 42 for West Wendover.
