Las Vegas’ Harper named tournament MVP

Las Vegas High baseball standout Bryce Harper was named the tournament Most Valuable Player after leading the USA Baseball 16U national team to the title at the COPABE “AA” Youth Pan American Championships in Mexico.

Team USA went 8-0, defeating Mexico 7-3 on Sunday for the title.

Harper led the tournament with four home runs and 16 RBIs. He was named to he all-tournament team as a right fielder.

For the tournament, Harper was 16-for-28 (.571), with six doubles, 16 runs and six stolen bases.
