Las Vegas police investigating death of 6-month-old girl in her home

Las Vegas police are investigating the death of a 6-month-old girl found dead in a Las Vegas home last week.

The Clark County coroner’s office on Friday identified the child as Autumn Harris.

The girl was found deceased July 30 in the front room of the home, according to reports from the coroner’s office and the Department of Family Services. Las Vegas police were called abut 8 a.m. after a report of a dead body at 4375 Boulder Highway, the address of the Boulder Pines Apartments, according to Metropolitan Police Department dispatch logs.

“A concern was noted that parenting practices may have contributed to the child’s death,” a Department of Family Services report said.

The department had no prior history with Autumn or her family, the report said.

The cause and manner of the death were still pending from the coroner’s office on Friday afternoon.

Metro confirmed an investigation into the girl’s death is ongoing. No further information on the investigation was available Friday morning.
