Man robs casino cage on Las Vegas Strip, gets away briefly

A man robbed the main cage at New York-New York on Thursday morning before being apprehended less than two hours later.

Las Vegas police were called to the property at 3790 Las Vegas Boulevard South at 2:06 a.m., Lt. David Gordon said.

“A white male suspect obtained an undetermined amount of cash,” Gordon said.

The exact method the man used to carry out the heist was not provided by police. Police initially said the suspect was outstanding, but by 3:45 a.m., police announced an arrest had been made.

“An adult male suspect on the robbery at the NYNY was located at the MGM and taken into custody at about 3:45 a.m.,” Gordon said, adding, “there were no injuries reported.”
