Horse Racing: Today at Santa Anita, June 12

Post Time 4 p.m.

Race 1 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 30 feet), Purse $45,000, Claiming $50,000, Fillies, 3-year-olds

3 Lookin for Money - Rafael Bejarano was shaken up during yesterday’s card; double check to see if he is riding all his mounts tonight.

5 Backstreet Lisa - Snuck out a game victory last time against slightly softer; she has faced these before, but now she’s in form.

Long Shot - 6 Housemaker

Race 2 - 5 furlongs, Purse $56,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies, 2-year-olds

7 Later My Love - In a race with this many FTS, you, the reader, have a big edge over me; pay close attention to where the money is going.

5 Take Me to Church - Another edge you may have over me is if you subscribe to a SoCal clocker’s report; very helpful in baby races.

Long Shot - 6 Time for Ebby

Race 3 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf, rail at 30 feet), Purse $58,000, Optional claiming $80,000, Fillies, 3-year-olds

5 Long Hot Summer -

1 Sea Mona - With the turf rail out 30 feet, she could be aggressively ridden by Tyler Baze; course is set up for speed.

Long Shot - 6 Stealth Drone

Race 4 - 6 furlongs, Purse $32,000, Claiming $25,000, Fillies and mares, 3-yeear-olds and up

8 Belle of the Fleet - Don’t mind the parking lot post when you want to stalk the early pace; chance to look inside and pick your spot.

4 Crazy Aboutn Him - Don’t ask me who this trainer is, but he has won from 4 of 36 starters this year; watch the tote board for clues.

Long Shot - 2 Lucky Student

Race 5 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf, rail at 30 feet), Purse $35,000, Claiming $32,000, 3-year-olds and up

5 Atta Boy Pete - Did everything but win last time in an excruciating defeat; key is if he can repeat such a strong effort.

8 Mistaken Identity - Ran well in last despite a surface switch sprint; it should serve as a nice tightener for the hillside again.

Long Shot - 6 Chosen Empire

Race 6 - 5 furlongs, Purse $19,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, 3-year-olds and up

7 Masters Circle - Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; big edge in a race full of slowpokes.

6 Cowtownmary - Been away a full year, but is taking a steep class drop on return; blinkers off, should be tough even if semi-ready.

Long Shot - 9 Haccucinator

Race 7 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 30 feet), Purse $63,000, Optional claiming $80,000, 3-year-olds and up

5 Ambitious Brew - We know he likes the Santa Anita sod; however, most starts have been down the hill, going 2-turns tonight.

2 Twentytwentyvision - This horse is a good example of the fine work done by Flavien Prat this meet; he rides many for Richard Mandella.

Long Shot - 6 Bobby Z Man

Race 8 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $19,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

11 Roman Wild - Her last try was clearly fast enough to beat these if repeated; was done in by a couple of class droppers, hers to lose.

7 Lana Caprina - Came thru with a career best by many last time out; the key question is if she has it in her to run a repeat good race.

Long Shot - 8 Native City

Best Bet - 11 Roman Wild (race 8)

Santa Anita Thursday - Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 15/4/$20.80; Long Shots, 8/2/$21.00; Best Bet, 1/0/$0

Santa Anita Meet Totals - 403/107/$614.40; Long Shots, 200/31/$76.40; Best Bets, 24/12/$51.40

SIMULCAST PLAY OF THE DAY - #3 My Friend Keith (7/2) in race 9 at Belmont Park. For scoring purposes, we’ll make a hypothetical $2 win, place and show bet, $6 total.
