Strat to offer Fourth of July fireworks

The Strat plans a fireworks display on the Fourth of July.

The Las Vegas hotel-casino will shoot fireworks from the highest launch site on the Strip from its 1,149-foot-tall tower, according to a Tuesday news release. The hotel-casino joins seven other Strip properties expected to blast pyrotechnics from their rooftops on Independence Day.

With setting off fireworks, The Strat also will offer views of the fireworks show on the Strip, and the tower itself will be illuminated red, white and blue starting at dusk, according to the release.

Among the other Strip properties launching fireworks are Aria, Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, Treasure Island, The Venetian and Resorts World Las Vegas.

Plaza celebrates its 50th birthday and Fourth of July with three days of fireworks. Fireworks will be launched from various locations, rooftops and towers July 2-4, the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the three-day weekend.

Station Casinos will mark its 45th birthday as a company with a 9 p.m. fireworks show on July 1, and then on July 4 fireworks begin at 9 p.m. at Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch resorts.

The Strat fireworks show will begin at 11 p.m. Special tower entry for viewing fireworks will cost $40, with entry beginning at 7 p.m. Visit thestrat.com for more information.
