Upscale car rental company coming to Las Vegas

An upscale car rental company serving 11 airports across the United States is coming to Las Vegas.

Silvercar, which rents silver Audi A4 sedans, began taking reservations through its smartphone application at its McCarran International Airport office at 1335 E. Sunset Road, Suite H. Cars will be available at the Las Vegas location Jan. 4.

The Silvercar app is available free from iPhone and Android app stores and online.

Silvercar rentals come with in-dash navigation systems, Wi-Fi and Sirius satellite radio built in. Rentals start at $69 a day.

The company was founded in Austin, Texas, in 2013 and has since opened rental facilities in Denver, at Los Angeles International Airport, Miami, Phoenix, San Francisco, at Dallas Love Field and Dallas-Fort Worth International, Chicago's O'Hare International, at New York's Silver Towers and at Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

In addition to the technological features, the company offers roadside assistance, the listing of additional drivers and toll tracking in its rentals. It charges $5 for a gasoline fill-up.

The company has been averaging 1,000 mobile app downloads a day and Silvercar has projected to triple its fleet and revenue by the end of the year since opening.

The company has received numerous technology and service awards since its founding.
