Netflix has a fake New Year’s Eve countdown for kids

Did you wait too long to find a babysitter for New Year's Eve and will now be ringing in 2016 by sitting at home with your kids? Netflix created a way to help give you some privacy when the clock strikes midnight.

After surveying 9,000 parents about their New Year's Eve habits, the streaming service said it found that about half of all parents in the United States, Britain, Canada and Australia hold a countdown for their kids around 9 p.m., Fortune reported.

In response, Netflix will release a series of programs that pretend to count down to 2016.

Because the content is already available for streaming, you don't have to wait for a certain time before you can show it to your children and let them think it's already midnight.
