Police respond to shooting in southeast Las Vegas

Updated February 15, 2022 - 1:50 pm

Las Vegas police were investigating a shooting Thursday afternoon in front of a local market and bar.

Police spokesman Larry Hadfield said in an email that the shooting happened in the 2500 block of East Tropicana Avenue, near Eastern Avenue, at 1:42 p.m. One victim was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. The person’s condition was not immediately released.

Officers taped off the parking lot of a shopping complex parking lot where Tropicana intersects with Topaz Street. Detectives were observed gathering in front of the Topaz Market, adjacent to the Office 6 tavern.

Hadfield said later Thursday afternoon that police were not prepared to release further information as detectives were still trying to sort out exactly what happened.
