Vegas warming up, drying out
The calm after the storm will come in the form of dry and warmer-than-normal conditions, according to the National Weather Service.
A drying trend in the Las Vegas Valley began Tuesday, which saw high temperatures at a comfortable 77 degrees, meteorologist Clay Morgan said.
But it's warming up, Morgan said. Wednesday's high is forecast at 84 degrees, Morgan said. Temperatures are expected to rise to the low 90s beginning Thursday and through the weekend.
No rain is forecast in the immediate future, Morgan said. Normal temperatures for this time a year are about 85 degrees.
That was not the case Monday when storms caused power outages, havoc on valley roads and some washouts and damage at Lake Mead.
It didn't rain Tuesday, but rescue crews were called about 4 p.m. to a person possibly falling into the fast-moving water of the Flamingo Wash near Maryland Parkway and Katie Avenue, the Clark County Fire Department said. Crews weren't able to find anyone and think the person might have climbed out safely.
