Hurricane Dolores could send rain to the Las Vegas Valley this weekend

Moisture from Hurricane Dolores might bring rain to the Las Vegas Valley over the weekend, but Thursday should stay hot and sunny.

With a forecast high of 105 degrees, Thursday is looking normal for a mid-July day, National Weather Service Meteorologist John Adair said.

Dolores was in the Pacific Ocean on Thursday with maximum winds of 115 mph and moving northwest from the southern stretch of the Baja California Peninsula, Adair said. The storm is not projected to reach land, but moisture spinning off its rotating bands could reach the Mojave Desert.
