Updated June 23, 2023 - 10:15 am

A pedestrian was fatally struck in a hit-and-run after a two-car crash in central Las Vegas Thursday night.

A man in his 20s driving a 2013 BMW 328i was speeding around 10:30 p.m. near East Sahara Avenue and State Street when he hit a silver 2011 Mercury Sable, according to a statement from the Metropolitan Police Department.

The crash sent the BMW spinning into a pedestrian standing in the bus lane. The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the driver of the BMW ran off and had not been identified as of Friday morning.

The Clark County coroner’s office is expected to identify the pedestrian after his family is notified.
