Driver sought in fatal North Las Vegas hit-and-run

Updated March 16, 2024 - 11:04 am

North Las Vegas police were searching for a hit-and-run motorist who killed a pedestrian early Saturday morning.

The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the victim as Enrique Zuniga Jr., 51.

Police said the involved vehicle looked like a red or maroon two-door Jeep Wrangler.

The crash was reported about 2:30 a.m. on Losee Road near Craig Road.

A man was pushing a shopping cart southbound on Losee when he was struck by the vehicle, which was heading north, police said.

A witness statement — supported by surveillance video — determined that the vehicle stopped near the scene, but “left shortly after,” wrote police in a news release, citing a preliminary investigation.

Meanwhile, police said the investigation was ongoing.
