Storms developing in the Spring Mountains could bring rain to the Las Vegas Valley.
"If it doesn't happen today, it's probably not going to happen for a while," National Weather Service meteorologist Chad Shafer said about the potential for precipitation.
Thursday's chance for rain is 10 percent.
If not, it will be clear, sunny and dry through the weekend, according to the forecast.
Lightning has been detected in the surrounding storms, Shafer said. "They're definitely growing." The storms may not be strong enough to sustain once reaching lower elevations, though.
If it doesn't rain, high temperatures should touch triple digits.
The forecast high is 101, and the low tonight is expected to drop to 81 degrees. By the weekend, the high could climb back to 104.
An increasing concern for Saturday and Sunday is wind. Gusts could be as strong as 25 mph in parts of the valley.
