Taylor Swift sued by former Denver radio host

LOS ANGELES — A former Denver radio host has filed a lawsuit against Taylor Swift, claiming that a false accusation of groping two years ago cost him his job.

David Mueller, the former "Jackson" in "Ryno and Jackson" on KYGO, filed the suit Thursday in U.S. District court in Denver, according to the Denver Post.

The incident took place on June 2, 2013, when, as part of his radio job, Mueller met Swift backstage at a photo session at the Pepsi Center. Mueller and his girlfriend, Shannon Melcher, posed with Swift for a photo, and Swift thanked the couple and left, according to the suit.

The suit says Mueller was later approached by a member of Swift's security team, who accused Mueller of touching Swift inappropriately, and was then escorted out through an exit door. Mueller was reportedly fired two days later.

"Mueller steadfastly maintains that no inappropriate contact of any kind occurred between him and Ms. Swift," reads the filing.

In a statement, Swift's publicist said Mueller's employer was given evidence of the incident, and made its own decision with the information granted.

Mueller had previously worked in radio for 20 years, and notes in the suit that he met many stars, including Britney Spears, Heidi Klum and Gwen Stefani, without incident. He made a base salary of $150,000, along with performance bonuses, public appearance payments and product endorsements.
