Several people were inside a McDonald’s east of the Strip when one man fatally shot another, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Robert Price said Monday evening.
Police responded to a call at 4:46 p.m. of a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. They transported him to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Price said that the “very preliminary” details indicate that the victim was inside of the McDonald’s when two people entered the restaurant and spoke to him. One of the men then pulled out a gun and shot him. They both fled the scene and were last seen running toward Twain Avenue, Price said.
“This does not appear to be a random act,” Price said.
He added that there is no connection to another shooting in front of the Palazzo, which occurred shortly after 4 p.m. Monday.
Police asked anyone with information to contact Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-3521 or homicide@lvmpd.com. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
