Harry Potter actor dies in Death Valley

Harry Potter actor David Legeno was found dead in Death Valley Sunday.

Legeno, 50, famously appeared as werewolf Fenrir Greyback in multiple Harry Potter movies. The United Kingdom-born man also appeared in the 2000 movie “Snatch,” 2012’s “Snow White and the Huntsman” and in numerous other television and movie roles.

According to a press release by the Inyo County sheriff’s office, Legeno’s body was found by hikers about 7 a.m. in a remote wash below Manly Beacon, west of Zabriskie Point in Death Valley.

Due to the remote area, California Highway Patrol used a helicopter to find and transport his remains.

It appeared that Legeno died of heat-related issues, but the Inyo County coroner will determine the cause of death. There were no signs of foul play, officials said.
