Part of Fremont East to close for gigantic block party
Get ready for Las Vegas to take over another of your weeknights: Now, along with hanging out at First Friday, you can head to Wednesdays Downtown on Fremont Street.
Fremont East Entertainment District has created what amounts to a street festival that will shut down Fremont Street between Las Vegas Boulevard and 6th Street from 6 p.m. to midnight. The block party is planned for every Wednesday for the rest of May and will return in September after taking a summer vacation.
Every participating business will feature different entertainment, including DJs, a painters lounge, silent disco, downtown dirty bar fight and the “world’s greatest happy hour,” according to organizers. Businesses will also have Wednesdays Downtown food and drink specials.
