Pedestrian hit, critically injured near Desert Inn and Maryland Parkway

A pedestrian was in critical condition after being hit by a car Monday afternoon, Las Vegas police said.

The collision happened just after 4 p.m. near Desert Inn Road and Maryland Parkway. The pedestrian suffered critical injuries and was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, police reported.

Metro’s fatal detail is investigating and Lt. Dave Valenta said the pedestrian may have stepped in front of the vehicle intentionally.
