Two crashes snarl traffic on U.S. 95 and Summerlin Parkway

A pair of accidents has tied up traffic on U.S. Highway 95 and Summerlin Parkway.

A three-vehicle accident on southbound U.S. 95 at Jones Boulevard at about 8:45 a.m. Wednesday sent two people to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and left most of the travel lanes closed.

Nevada Highway Patrol Sgt. Kevin Honea said the second crash, involving five vehicles nearby on Summerlin Parkway, is currently causing a worse back-up on the highway.

Tow trucks are on their way to clear up the area, but the HOV lane and main travel lane next to it are closed.
