Three Nevada boxers advance at Golden Gloves tourney

Nevada boxers Lorenzo Caldera, Quontez McRath and Elvis Garcia scored victories Tuesday night during the second day of the Golden Gloves National Tournament of Champions at the LVH.

Caldera advanced to today’s third round by beating Isidro Flores in the 132-pound weight class, McRath defeated David Maggio in the 152-pound class and Garcia beat Jeremy McClam at 201 pounds.

Nevada boxers who lost their bouts included Edward Rojas in the 114-pound class and Jose Mena at 178 pounds.

Action resumes at 6 p.m. today through Friday at the LVH.
