Man sitting on U.S. Highway 95 ledge shuts down traffic

A man sitting on a ledge shut down traffic for hours in Henderson Saturday afternoon.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman Loy Hixson, troopers received reports that a man was sitting on U.S. Highway 95 over College Drive at 3:45 p.m.

The man would not come down, forcing troopers to shut down the highway in both directions. College Drive was shut down as well, and traffic was diverted.

Shortly before 5 p.m., the man was taken into custody, Hixson said. Medical personnel will check him out, and he will be sent to the Henderson jail.
