Man killed in shooting near downtown Las Vegas identified

The man shot to death near downtown Las Vegas on Thursday has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office as Demario Berry.

The 20-year-old Las Vegas resident died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Las Vegas police said Berry was walking in the 1700 block of Curran Way, near the intersection of H Street and Owens Avenue, talking with an unknown male when the attack happened late Thursday afternoon. Detectives believe the shooter approached and fired several shots before running away.

Officers found Berry lying on the ground in front of a home. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he died.
