Peter Long named Nevada’s new HR chief

CARSON CITY — Peter Long, a veteran of state government, was named Monday as administrator of the Division of Human Resource Management.

Long has served as deputy administrator since 2004. His promotion was announced by Administration Director Patrick Cates.

Cates called Long’s knowledge of personnel issues and his management skills “an asset to the state.”

In his new role Long will oversee all personnel aspects of state government, including job classifications and compensation; payroll; records; recruitment; employee development; family and catastrophic leave; and the Equal Employment Opportunity and Discrimination Investigation unit.

He replaces Lee-Ann Easton, who is now deputy director of administration.
