Two inmates walk away from Northern Nevada firefighting camp

Two minimum-security inmates walked away from a firefighting camp on Sunday, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Nicco Donavan Way, 25, and James Westbrook, 23, walked out of Humboldt Conservation Camp and were last seen at a Reno convenience store at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

Way is 5-foot-6 with blue eyes, brown hair, a 2-inch scar on his chin and a tattoo on the right side of his neck. Way was serving 12 to 32 months for attempted burglary.

Westbrook is 6-foot-2 with hazel eyes and brown hair. He has the word “Jay” tattooed on his right forearm. Westbrook was serving 16 to 72 months for burglary and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

The camp, located about 160 miles northeast of Reno, is staffed by 12 employees. It can house up to 152 inmates working in crews for firefighting, highway clean-up and community projects.
