Inmate serving life sentence dies at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center

An inmate serving a life sentence died at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center on Thursday.

James E. Barrows, 73, died at the prison’s medical facility around 12:30 p.m. Barrows had been in prison since December 1996, serving a life sentence with possibility of parole for sexual assault.
