Metro asks for help in finding lewdness suspect

Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect involved in a series of lewdness incidents in July.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, at about 9:50 p.m. on July 5, a person was cleaning a vehicle and pumping gas at a gas station near West Sahara Avenue and South Jones Boulevard when a man touched her.

“The victim was grabbed from behind and was inappropriately touched by an adult male suspect,” Metro said in a news release. The person was able to get away from the man, police said.

“During the course of the investigation, detectives discovered several additional victims who described the same suspect and crimes over the course of several days in the first week of July,” the release said.

Other incidents occurred at gas stations near the intersection of South Decatur Boulevard and West Spring Mountain Road, and the intersection of South Decatur Boulevard and West Desert Inn Road, police said.

Additional similar incidents may have occurred but were not reported, Metro said.

Police described the suspect as a black man in his 20s or 30s, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet 2 inches tall, with an average build and short hair. He was last seen driving a 2008 to 2010 Cadillac Escalade with blue or gray paint, chrome rims and a sunroof.

Police said anyone who believes may have been a victim of the suspect can contact Metro’s sexual assault section at 702-828-3421. Anyone with information about the suspect or the incidents can contact police at 702-828-3421 or anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
