Unbeaten Magdaleno wins NABO youth title

Jesse Magdaleno of Las Vegas knocked down Jonathan Arellano of Ontario, Calif., twice to win a unanimous decision and the NABO youth super bantamweight championship Thursday night at the Mirage Events Center.

"My heart is racing. I landed some real heavy punches, and I have my first title belt," the 21-year-old Magdaleno said in a statement.

Magdaleno (13-0, 9 knockouts) knocked down Arellano (13-2-1, 3 KOs) in the second and sixth rounds to win by scores of 80-70, 80-70 and 80-69.

"I took some hard punches but gave it back hard," Magdaleno said. "I could tell by his eyes he was shook bad in the last couple of rounds."
