A 32-year-old man was arrested Thursday in connection with the discovery of more than 100 marijuana plants with an estimated value of $400,000 at a home, Las Vegas police said.

Jared Devin Ries lives on the 9000 block of Mossy Hollow Avenue, near U.S. Highway 95 and Elkhorn Road. He faces the recommended charges of possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with the intent to sell.

Police said they discovered 109 mature marijuana plants at the home worth $381,000. They were called there about 9:20 a.m. to investigate a suspicious situation.

Upon arrival, the homeowner told them two unwanted people were hiding in a bedroom. Police did not specify if the homeowner was Ries.

Police have investigated 102 grow houses this year.
